Young in Värmdö is a unit within the Culture and Leisure Office focused on creating participation, influence, and meaningful leisure together with the young residents of Värmdö.
Through a supportive leadership, meetings and contexts are formed where young individuals have the opportunity to grow and create trusting relationships in the community. In the unit, we work based on different areas of operation:
- Open youth activities. Based on geographical distribution, Young in Värmdö offers meeting places that conduct leader-led open youth activities during young people's leisure time; Runda huset in Gustavsberg, Tomtebo in Hemmesta, and Brunnen on Ingarö. Young in Värmdö also provides a digital-oriented activity and culture [at]Lobbyn as well as a completely digital meeting place.
- Short-term supervision. Young in Värmdö conducts short-term supervision, Tomtebo KTT, for school students over 12 years old according to the Act (1993:387) on support and service for certain disabled persons (LSS) 9 § 7. The KTT activity is partly included with the assignment for open youth activities.
- Youth dialogue. Within the framework of youth dialogue, the municipality's youth council VKung works to contribute a youth perspective in various issues and projects through democratic processes, and act as a spokesperson between politicians and young people. Quick cash allows young people to apply for funding to run activities aimed at other young people.
For our short-term supervision, Tomtebo KTT, we are looking for a need-based leisure resource to support a young person with greater support needs.
Job Description
In the operation, conditions are created for accessible and inclusive activities based on a promoting perspective, increased youth influence, and meetings between young people. Tomtebo KTT is co-located with open youth activities, and some activities take place together.
As a leisure resource, your role consists of varied tasks. You will have primary responsibility for a young person with greater support needs and become part of a team focused on strengthening meaningful leisure for young people with disabilities who have been granted assistance with us.
The focus is on strengthening the individual's own abilities and working towards achieving jointly set goals. You will be the young person's support to safely participate in activities based on their own conditions.
We are looking for someone who has experience in, and feels comfortable with, supporting basic care such as during toilet visits and meal situations. You have knowledge in the use of aids such as walkers and wheelchairs as well as techniques to support safe transfers between them. You are also responsible for daily motor stimulation to maintain motor function. You have the ability to meet various communicative expressions and work in a low-arousal manner.
As a person, you are calm, attentive, and see possibilities. You have the ability to express yourself in speech and writing and master the Swedish language as we have documentation responsibilities.
We place great emphasis on social skills and personal suitability.
For these positions, presenting a valid extract from the police criminal record is a prerequisite for employment.
